Legal
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 6 August 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information stored on or accessed from a device when a website is used. Similar technologies include pixels, local storage, software development kits and device identifiers. In this policy, “cookies” includes these technologies where the law treats them in a similar way.
2. Who operates this website
This website is operated by Jim McFadyen, a sole trader trading as The Vortex Centre for Wellbeing. Contact info@team.vortexcentre.com with a cookie or privacy question.
3. How we use cookies
We may use the following categories:
Strictly necessary
These are required for functions requested by the user, such as security, network management, booking-form operation, remembering privacy choices or maintaining a logged-in session. Where the legal exemption applies, these do not require consent.
Preferences
These remember choices that are not essential, such as display or media preferences. We use them only where permitted by your cookie choice.
Analytics
These help us understand how visitors use the website, which pages are useful and whether errors occur. Where storage or access is not exempt, they are disabled until consent is given.
Advertising and social media
These may measure advertising, limit repetition, create audiences or connect content with a social-media service. They are disabled until valid consent is given. We do not use health-screening information for advertising audiences.
4. Your choice
When required, the cookie banner offers a real choice to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Rejecting must be as easy as accepting. No non-essential cookie should be set before a positive choice.
You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the “Cookie Settings” link in the website footer. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing, but it stops future non-essential cookie use from that browser where technically possible.
Browser controls can also block or delete cookies, but doing so may affect website functions.
5. Current cookie declaration
The live declaration below states each cookie or technology’s name, provider, purpose, category and duration.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| vortex-cookie-consent | vortexcentre.com | Stores your cookie consent preferences (essential, analytics, advertising) | Strictly necessary | Persistent (until consent is changed) |
| Session cookies | vortexcentre.com | Maintains your browsing session while navigating the site | Strictly necessary | Session (cleared when browser closes) |
| No analytics or advertising cookies are set unless you opt in via the cookie banner. | ||||
This declaration was last reviewed on 6 August 2026. If we add analytics, advertising pixels, or other third-party scripts in future, we will rescan and update this table.
6. Third-party content
Embedded video, maps, booking forms, payment tools and social-media content may be supplied by third parties. Where their non-essential technologies require consent, the content or tracker should remain blocked until the relevant choice is made. The third party may then process information under its own privacy policy.
7. Updates
We will update this policy and the live cookie declaration when technologies change.
